So what do you guys think do you think that Jonah originally loved martine and just wanted Justice but tasted power and said mannn fuck them kids or do you think the whole time it was all fake and he just wanted the server room
(No wrong answer just would love to hear everyone’s opinions!)
Hmm something that also intrigues me greatly about the possibility that Martine is the OG Tali: our first bit of real information on Martine is that, supposedly, no one knows her but Jonah. This could be literal in that no one knows her real identity except for Jonah. However, more broadly and in a narrative sense, I think it’s meant to convey that no one else knows her as a person, on an intimate level, as one would a friend. It’s meant to tell us that Martine is alone in the world and she has no intimate relationships aside from her romantic one with Jonah Markham. He’s all she has and without him she would just…. cease to exist, metaphorically. So when Martine eventually turns on him (which I do think is inevitable considering the story we’ve gotten from them thus far), I wonder if it will be in part due to the realization that she isn’t alone, that someone else knows her, someone better than Jonah.
It's like Jonah is to Aaron Graves, what Callisto was to Xena. In his crazed need to destroy Graves, 'and others like him', he became exactly what he was traumatized by in the first place. Then blamed all his sins on Graves.
Graves was certainly a sociopath. But Jonah thought he was smarter than Ziva fucking David in that he could make Tiva take the fall for him and then kill them off. If he'd succeeded, he legit would've been making Tali into the new him.
Final NCIS: Tony & Ziva predictions:
Well... I should probably get in one final round of guesses before the finale tomorrow. (I don't want it to be over.)
And no, not all of these are "good" predictions... and some of them I really don't want to see. But taking my eternally romantic wants out of the equation... this is how I think it will all tally up at the end:
Good guys:
Tony
Ziva
Tali
Claudette
Sophie
Boris
Lang (I'm finally dropping my suspicions - no way would Tali be talking to Archie if Lang was involved.)
Morally grey :
Martine (With Graves dead, she's a free agent. They'll never really trust her, but she wants the same thing they do now.)
Lazar (Well, he just seems to be on Martine's string, but I don't think he impedes anything any further, anyway. He just wants his son.)
Bad guys:
Jonah
Fruzsi (Don't get me wrong, I want her to be innocent, - but I don't like that photo with Boris, Claudette and Tony, not to mention she's been AWOL way too long. And while all the promo material has gone on about it being someone close to them... and they're not exactly besties, it could be more of that mirroring - the dishonesty and pretence inside an otherwise loving relationship, and that betrayal of finding out someone was lying all along - the thing that they only scratched the surface of in flashbacks. Because yeah, Jonah and Martine had that too - but this one will play out right under Tiva's noses. )
Death count:
Jonah (by Ziva and/or Martine)
The 9.4 thumb drive
Assorted Reigning Fire goons. (But meh.)
Someone who's on team Tiva... most likely Boris, Sophie or Martine - John keeps mentioning how intense the last episode is, and I have an awful feeling they're going to heighten that by adding an emotional gut punch by killing off someone we like, have sympathy for, or have gotten attached to. My spidey-sense is telling me it'll be a self-sacrifice move to protect someone else. But not Claudette, Tony's already lost someone close, I don't think they'd pull that twice.
Senior - (well, a confirmed mention that he passed sometime after the not-wedding and before the series began anyway.)
Other open-ended storylines:
Tiva, back together, united as a family with Tali. But the emotions still to cover... I think they're going to lean heavily on the joy of seeing them united to detract from some of the things they just no longer have time to address. (Ziva blaming herself for *everything*, Tony trying to fix stuff that can't be fixed right away with sweeping forgiveness, lies and big gestures, his undermining Ziva's parenting to stay fun, the way they've both made Tali complicit in their issues "Not that late for Dad" "You're afraid to tell Mom things." and I'm sure there's more...)
Wedding - iffy. Doubt it would be in real time after the incident anymore, maybe in the montage Michael mentioned.
Baby Tiva #2 - no go.
Martine's father - I honestly have no guesses here anymore, but definitely not Eli. I also have no idea why she thinks Tony might know her.
Mothership cast appearance - nope.
Salus Mondial - back to business as usual, but they no longer provide for Interpol.
Well... I think that's everything and everyone... but suffice it to say I am not ready for this to end. Let's see how this all plays out. 27ish hours to go. I don't know whether to cry or throw up from the strain of waiting.

Well, tallying up my predictions one last time.
On Tiva bingo I'm taking half points for the chickening out kiss for Ziva and the wedding dress scene - because we don't know if Tony meant for them to kiss then or if he really just wanted to talk. Also for relationship advice "You two could really benefit from bootcamp." While it wasn't strictly oblivious, Tiva could have benefited from it, but didn't, because Tony wasn't honest.
Some of them were so close it's infuriating though. Plenty of OG mentions but no appearances, and while Tony mortified Tali with the Madeleine game, that definitely wasn't Gen Z speak. Although the proposal was in a stressful moment, it wasn't the "Oh shit we're about to die" moment I was getting at. And as for Sweet Cheeks and Hairy Butt... Well, no one could've seen that being traded in for Big Daddy 😂
In terms of the finale. I am freaking thrilled that my good guy list stayed complete. And happier still the Team Tiva death I expected didn't come to light.
Fruzsi... Well, I've had my eye on her since episode 4, but for none of the right reasons. I still feel incredibly justified that she was bad though. Poor Boris, I tell you I was tearing up in his last scene 💔
As for the open ended storylines - as much as I wanted some of them to be wrong, and to happen after all, I guess that's what Season 2 will be for (🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞) And no, I still don't think Tiva have thoroughly addressed all the shit they need to, but I also think they might be on the right way this time.
What a fucking journey this was. I can't believe it's over already. But... Here's to all the rewatches and hopefully spawning some new fic ideas.
I love you guys. Thanks for being here.
