The Northerners who managed to find their own escape from the world of the Seven Kingdoms and landed fairly near the Wheel of Time survivors. (And Briseys.)
Bennett Stark, 16 years old. The Head of House Stark, Bennett was only seven when he took that position - a disaster in the making. No one counted on the quiet little boy surviving given that he had several ambitious cousins and even some Karstarks waiting for his downfall, but Bennett was a true Stark... albeit with a ruthless streak. He put down several attempts to overthrow him, had the uncle who was overseeing his leadership sent to the wall, and dragged Winterfell into screaming compliance. Had the Nothing not come when it did no other survivors would have left those lands, but Bennett's determination ensured a handful more made it out alive.
Beryn Tallhart, 24 years old. Beryn has long been in love with his dear, Tully-bred bride. They met at a tournament when he was just seventeen, with a thirteen year old Briseys smiling sweetly at him before mischievously braiding ribbons into his mount's tail. That even she'd boldly declared she would marry him, something that brought lots of good-natured laughter. Beryn learned later just how shy she normally was and fell head-over-heels for the spritely girl. He promised he'd become worthy of the third daughter of the Tully lord and by her eighteenth name day Beryn had earned enough renown that asking for her hand was acceptable.
Briseys Tully, 20 years old. Briseys was never a bold girl, never outgoing or considered to even be the prettiest of her sisters. But as a young girl at her first tourney she caught sight of Beryn and lost her head over him. Her sister Kaysa teased her endlessly when she caught Briseys 'mooning' as she put it, but she didn't care. He was so beautiful, with pale hair that was almost silver, and she just knew he was the man for her. Marrying him felt like her greatest accomplishment.
Jae Knott, 19 years old. Jae's life has always been a bit... complicated. She's grown up knowing she was a not-so-secret bastard her father had forced her mother to raise. It meant she had very little in the way of maternal love, even less of an idea of healthy family dynamics. At 19 she found herself throwing up every morning and desperate to hide her swelling belly as the world around her seemed to end.
Heath Stane, 19 years old. A talented hunter and tracker, loyal to the Starks down to his very bones. He could be a bit awkward at times which made him even more dedicated to Bennett who never minded is strangeness. He likely would have lived the rest of his life doing his duty to the Starks without ever marrying, but when the Nothing arrived he was the only one who managed to find out what Aerea was up to.
Jon Bole, 20 years old. Gregarious and fun-loving, Jon's likeable nature was something he often used to smooth over any awkwardness brought up by Bennett's seriousness or Heath's oddity. It was his special talent of sorts no doubt born from needing to stand out among a very, very large family.
Kier Crowl, 20 years old. Silver-tongued and suave about it Kier was a playboy before he was really aware of it. He enjoyed flirting, the chase, the tug-and-pull of a new love. But once the shine wore off he was equally as skilled at removing himself in such a way as none of his lovers held a grudge.
Lyland Fenn, 17 years old. Young and fierce as only the young and determined to prove themselves can be Lyland attached himself to Bennett fairly early on when he realized the other boy had something worth following. But Lyland knew Bennett wouldn't keep around dead weight which is why he honed his ability as an archer to distinguish himself.
Rit Ryswell, 18 years old. Some might call Rit a bit slow as a kindness, not wanting to say whatever cruel word they thought instead. The truth is that Rit is ferociously intelligent he's just always struggled to share that with others. He had a terrible stutter for years and slowly just stopped speaking.
