oh yeah i’m good it’s been a few hours now so i’ve calmed down a lot but okay basically what happened was i was driving to work this morning and i take a minor street to avoid the tollway, like a lot of people in dallas do, so because of that there was a ton of traffic and it was just pretty slow-going

so i was in the middle lane and i ended up behind this white mustang. i might have been a little closer to his bumper than what is recommended, i honestly don’t 100% remember, but i know i could see both of his back tires where they met the pavement and i know i could see a little pavement between us. at some point, i don’t know exactly when, he started motioning for me to switch over to the right lane. i didn’t want to do that because we were coming up on a turnpike and both the far left and far right lanes turned onto that turnpike so the middle lane is the only one that flows relatively uninterrupted through that whole intersection

so he’s motioning for me to switch over to the right lane, and i shook my head no, and he did not like that at all

he starts getting more and more aggressive in pointing for me to get over and i’m getting more and more annoyed bc who tf does this guy think he is he can’t force me to switch lanes right

that’s about when he started brake checking me, like, SUPER aggressively. he’d slow down just enough that i would close a little bit of the distance between us and then he’d SLAM on his brakes, before speeding up again to catch up with the car in front of him. still pointing at me and telling me to switch to the right lane. again, this is early in the morning in the middle of a SHIT TON of traffic, and i’m having to slam on my brakes every time he slams on his, so while i’m now determined to stay in the middle lane bc of the principle of the thing, the cars around us have picked up on what’s going on and have cleared out. so in the middle of rush hour, the closest car behind me is a solid fifty yards back.

right around the fourth time he brake checked me, i pulled my phone out and dialed 911 to report an aggressive and erratic driver. literally as i’m on the phone with the tech telling her my location and the guy’s license plate number and all that, he switches over to the right lane and starts to slow down so that he’ll be even with me. i looked away as soon as i saw his window start to come down and i told the technician what was happening, and then!!! this hairy old fuck starts SCREAMING at me. so loud the 911 tech could hear him through my closed windows.

and then he starts swerving toward me like he’s gonna run me off the road.

so like i automatically shut down all emotional responses to the situation and go into fight or flight and i’m trying to figure out a way to ease into the left lane without hitting anyone or getting hit, while still on the phone with 911, when the guy just speeds off without actually hitting me. i think the only reason he didn’t actually ram me into the other lane is bc his car looked really new tbh.
