Jointhepipe is a community of tap water drinkers. People joining from different parts of the world to build the longest water pipe ever seen, long enough to bring water to those without. Their aim is to re-distribute water in a fairer way, little by little, meter after ,meter. For World Water Day last week, Jointhepipe.org create a tap for drinking water at the Leidseplein. Jeanine van Pinxteren who is responsible for environment and sustainability, opened the tap. Together with Lorenzo de Rita, the founder of Jointhepipe, they walked on the blue carpet for the first filled bottle with real water. Students of the minor sustainable leadership & entrepreneurship were at the location to prepare and realize the opening.
