Checking his watch, James noticed it was 6 pm and walked behind the bar to begin his shift. He noticed a couple of regulars already nursing their drinks and looked around to see if there was anyone he didn't recognize. Since it was the beginning of his shift, he figured he would take the time to check and see if anyone needed a refill on their drinks as he got settled in for yet another night at The Boiler Room.

This year is not the easiest for me. I honestly need help. I am now looking for help to overcome this holiday season. I haven't heard from my kids this year. Then again I haven't heard from them really for the past few years. No matter how hard I try to engage with them about anything, it just goes to deaf ears. I feel as though I am competing with a stepfather that gives them everything and makes over 75k a year. How can I compete with that?
With technology being available the way it is, there should be no reason why anyone cannot talk with their family members not with them in person. Just why?
I only have my mother that I talk to and a friend in Russia. Literally, the only 2 people that I talk to on a regular basis. The last friend I had, dropped off a few of my stuff from their house and that was it. That was before Thanksgiving. This is one of the reasons why I started a blog. To get out those emotions and feelings that seem to always be with me since my kids left.
I am not sad but disappointed in them. I thought that I made a good impression with them, but it is not to be. There are so many emotions and sadness that are going through my mind and it sucks.
