🎛️ I bought the mixer in 1999, but the faders broke after just a few months. Using techniques from my jewelry studies in Italy, I rebuilt the faders and added weights to improve their response. Additionally, I cut the lower part of the faceplate near the crossfader to match the measurements of the PMC-05 model.
Today, I gave the mixer a fresh update by applying a new skin and replacing the knobs and fader caps. After more than 25 years, the mixer is still working perfectly!

John Type has created an exclusive video for Ableton to celebrate Record Store Day 2026, combining a vinyl DJ setup with the Ableton Push 3 Standalone. He samples the iconic Amen Brother by The Winstons, chopping it into 16 slices on Push 3 and performing it in a dynamic jungle-style groove using Note Repeat. The bass comes from a vinyl record with a continuous tone, manipulated between 33 and 45 RPM to create expressive pitch changes, and enhanced with the internal effects of the Pioneer DJM-S7 mixer.

🎹 Stranger MidiTablism! 🎯 A precisely located synth bass note within the song Sweet Dreams is played by the arpeggiator with MidiTablism techniques in a morphing transition recreating the iconic bass line from Stranger Things. ✨
🧬 The arpeggio sounds so effective because both songs were produced with the legendary Roland Juno-6 synthesizer. 📥 Download the Routine Sounds at JohnType.com
