Been thinking about the phrase "They would find each other in any lifetime," and forgive me for being a filthy homestuck but I'm still struck by how much It Did That with so many of the character's arcs. Idk I just really appreciate how much hussie used fate as a narrative mechanic that showed how flexible it could be, rather than a rigorous prophecy that had no attempt for rebellion. The point is that even if they run away, hurt one another, even fucking kill each other, they'd still find each other again, changed and somehow familiar.
