Battling against one of the best offenses  in the MLB; the game will depend on how well the starters fair. In this case; this was the first start for Vidal Nuno in replacement of Ivan Nova. 

Starting Pitching:  Its going to take a bit of time for Nuno to get his pitch count up to a starter's level; so we knew that he would not be in there for long.  He settled down after giving a first inning homer to Mike Trout and lasted into the 5th inning. Nuno fared pretty well overall; going 4.1 innings on 72 pitches (48 strikes) giving up 3 runs on 5 hits ( 1 home run) striking out 4 and walking two.

Bullpen Pitching: Delin Betances came in with one out in the fifth inning and proceeded to pitch 2 complete innings ( earning his first win) giving up a hit and a walk and striking out three.  Shawn Kelley came in with one out  in the seventh and  got his third hold by pitching 1.1 innings giving up two hits; walking one and  striking out one.  Lefty specialist Matt Thornton got the final out in the eight and earned his seventh hold.  David Robertson got his third save for striking out two and giving up a hit in the ninth. 

Offense:   This was John Ryan Murphy's day: going two for three with a home run; earning himself three RBIs.  The Yankees has a three run bottom of the second with the first run being scored on a balk ( one of two in the game)  and the next two runs being scored on a bases loaded single by rookie catcher John Ryan Murphy. Murphy  would also hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the fifth; in what would prove to be the winning run.

John Ryan Murphy hit his very first MLB home run against the Angels in Saturdays 4-3 win over the Angels.
