He wants to sear this memory into his brain, the image of Reg on his knees, mouthing at Johnny through his briefs, breath hot and panting even through the fabric. Reg, at his feet, glancing up at Johnny with nothing but raw hunger in his eyes, as if the last six months of trying to pretend they’d never done this before hadn’t happened.
“You look so good like this,” says Johnny, once he gets his breath back.
“You’re just saying that to get me to suck your dick,” says Reg, breaking Johnny’s gaze.
Absolutely vibrating will glee over my INCREDIBLE commission from @suddenly-frankenstein of Johnny and Reg from chapter 13 of I want to hold you close, skin pressed against me tight
London Ain’t the Place to Feel Lonely
Johnny Cooper/Reg Seekings
Est. word count: 25K
Johnny Cooper gets more than he bargained for when he sets out to save his friends’ bookshop from closing.
But he won’t shower again. Smelling like sex is part of Johnny’s charm. Dabbing away and redoing the most scandalous streaks on his face, he puts on way too much lipstick so he can kiss a napkin and write, Let’s make up! on a napkin. This note, he leaves for Fraser, because he’s unsure if his flatmate will make an appearance this evening. It’s always a fifty-fifty chance of Fraser drinking alone or suffering through company when he’s angry at his friends.
Johnny’s employer’s only uniform stipulation is an all black ensemble. More partial to color, Johnny capitulates only because he loves this job. He shimmies into skin-tight leather pants and a matching crop top, accessorizing with copious amounts of gold jewelry, black boots, and a spritz of citrusy cologne. One last glance in the mirror. Johnny preens. He looks like a siren, supermodel, slut. It’ll be easy enough to snare a good-looking man after his shift, and, in doing so, forget all about Reginald Seekings.

💫 🥺🤲🩷 pls
another johnnyreg concept? it's more likely than you think (this one has been bouncing around in dms with @etherealthistle for a while now 😌)
The resort is, to put it plainly, absurd. If Reg were to be told that they were actually here to be extras on the next series of the White Lotus, he wouldn't even question it.
They haven't got a hotel room, that would be far too pedestrian for a place like this. No, they've got a cabana, complete with personal patio, jacuzzi, and private, glass-walled rain shower that looks out over the edge of the cliff face and into the vast expanse of ocean beyond. The attendant that's showing them to the room chatters all of this at them in rapid-fire accented English, along with a description of the other amenities included in their package, and Reg isn't certain if it's the twelve hours he just spent on a plane or simply the absolute insanity of the situation that's only allowing him to process about half of it.
Johnny, at least, seems to be of a mind with him, his shoulders tense, his eyes bloodshot with exhaustion.
"Shall I show you around inside?" asks the attendant, and Johnny, bless him, responds before Reg can let out his own exhausted, unfiltered denial, which likely would have been along the lines of "absolutely the fuck not."
"I think we could both use a nap before anything else," he says, his tone tight in the way it gets when he's doing his absolute best to stay polite and only barely managing it.
"Of course," says the attendant quickly. "My information is on the table inside, please don't hesitate if you need anything."
He leaves quickly after that, and Reg can feel the tension draining from his body the moment he's gone, relieved to finally be alone with Johnny, and maybe to try out that rain shower before collapsing into bed for the next ten to twelve hours.
Johnny, it seems, does not quite feel the same.
"Hey," he says, catching Reg by the wrist before he can pull the keycard from his pocket. "I need to- There's something you should know before we go in."
"If it's how much this place costs a night, I think I'd rather not know," says Reg, tugging the card out and pulling free from Johnny's (surprisingly weak, for once) grip.
"It's not that," says Johnny. "See, the thing is-"
Reg taps the card against the door handle, pushing the door open to reveal an entire living room and full kitchen, as if there's any world in which they'll be spending this week cooking for themselves. It's at least twice the size of his and Johnny's flat back home, with one wall made up entirely of windows to look out over the sea, a door leading into a bathroom with a glimpse of a bathtub that must be big enough to fit at least two people, even as freakishly tall as Johnny is, and a staircase spiralling up to a single bedroom door.
A staircase with a vase of roses on every step, and a champagne bucket at the foot of it.
"Johnny," says Reg slowly, turning to face Johnny as his brain jumps to about a million conclusions - none of which could possibly be the correct one.
"Christ," mutters Johnny. "I didn't think the flowers would be so... much."
"Johnny," Reg says again. "This isn't-"
"I know," says Johnny quickly. "I should've told you sooner, but I didn't know if you'd still come if you knew- well."
"No," says Reg. "I mean- it's... it's nice."
"Thank God," says Johnny, letting out a soft, relieved laugh. "You really don't mind, then?"
Mind? Reg wants to say - like he hasn't spent the last year of his life trying and failing to fight these feelings, like he hasn't been sure that Johnny would never go for someone like him, inexperienced and rough around the edges and unquestionably far from Johnny's usual type. He might laugh, if his heart weren't busy beating in his throat. "I really don't mind," he says, taking a step forward.
"Thank you," says Johnny, taking a step forward of his own, and then, much to Reg's surprise, wrapping his arms around him in a tight hug. "It's just for the week," he says into Reg's hair, "and for what it's worth, I didn't know the resort was couples only until I'd already taken the assignment."
Johnny pauses for a moment, but by the time his words really process in Reg's mind, he's already continuing speaking.
"And for that matter," he adds, "I'm not quite sure how Stirling got it into his head that we were dating at all."
