Johnny Phantasm in the Tales of New Detroit, 1977 debuts at Oddity Tattoo and Arts. Comic book release and art show will take place on Saturday May 11th. The month includes events such as Free Comic Book Day, Star Wars Day (May the 4th) and MegaCon Orlando; the largest comic book convention in the Southeast. This year will have an exciting addition; Oddity Tattoo and Arts will be hosting the launch party for the graphic novel Johnny Phantasm in the Tales of New Detroit, 1977. The launch party and art show will start at 9pm on Saturday May 11th. Meet Johnny Phantasm author Evan Pozios and artist Patrick Thomas Parnell and have your book signed. The gallery will feature custom variant covers by notable comic book artists including James O’Barr (The Crow), Matt Santorelli (DC Comics), Fernando Ruiz (Archie Comics) and Alex Sanchez (Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica). Many favorite local artists will also be featured including Michael White, Travis Franklin and the rest of the Oddity Tattoo crew. Johnny Phantasm is an 80+ page story of a 1970’s New Detroit hitman who has lost all ability to care. He has pushed away his family, his love and any feeling of empathy. When a hit on a corrupt priest goes sideways, Johnny is cursed with an immense other-worldly power. Johnny Phantasm is a mix of underworld gangsters, disco balls, violence and voodoo...
