Hmmmm.... I’d say both. I think John coddles Sherlock a bit more, washing his hair and stroking his cheeks but I’d also say sometimes Sherlock feels a little territorial and needs to guide John around the flat, feeding him and bathing him and putting him to bed so he can snuggle into him and love him quietly after a long day. I think they trade off being the caretakers, though John is the main one =)

JOHN. I don’t know why, I don’t think Sherlock is afraid but he just can’t be bothered, like “ugh. John, take care of that obnoxious spider crawling on the wall. It’s annoying me.”
