I won't go with the easy OoT and mention Ico. It's one of the most powerful love stories ever told, in the sense that two children lost and abandoned find each other and grow stronger through each other's strengths and weakness. None can fight but both become brave for the sake of the other. The ending literally made me cry for half an hour. Otherwise wonderful 101 also remains one of the most insanely intense, beautiful and majestic experiences in gaming I've ever had. Very hard, very rewarding

Also, konami's treatment of the guy was horrendous and ruined the game, and several of the series he was working on. The guy literally was put in the company's basement for a few months without any contact with the rest of his team, being able to give feedback only through somebody else. They turned his life's legacy into a fucking pachinko, and millions of gamers' hopes into trash. No shit people hate that company. I'm glad Japan's new laws on gambling are about to fuck them up.

Well, of course his games have "flaws". All books have them and yet many people will call Flaubert or Hugo geniuses, same with cinema and some directors, or music and some songwriters. That doesn't make the artist any less of a hyper-influential genius. Kojima is one of the most incredibly prolific and original minds in gaming, regarding him as someone who deserves tremendous admiration for his work, like Iwata or Carmack, is far from unfair or uncalled for. Adulation is fair but a bit much.

I'll pontificate a bit, but my gripe with tumblr (and a few other sites like twitter, true) compared to the rest of the internet is that only tumblr behaves in terrible, hateful and narcissistic manners while being absolutely convinced of being the paramount example of moral value. All people I see that act like jerks do it while aware that "I guess I'm a dick, but". Tumblr continuously treats other human beings with absolute, formidable disgust, while assuring they are the epitome of sanctity.

Paris is definitely the best place on earth to visit but it'd be absolutely unbearable to live there. I personally have some fond affection for smaller towns and regions, that are inhabited mostly by nature and silence. Places like Provence for example are outright paradise. The north of France is cold and a bit too grey for my tastes, while the far-south is a bit too sepia... if that makes sense. France remains the best country and culture on the planet anyway.
