Edgar Rice Burroughs (b. 1875) and Joe Jusko (b. 1959) are two September 1 babies who share more than a birthday. Jusko @juskoart is a leading fantasy and sci-fi painter (and two-time Heavy Metal cover artist) who’s visualized quite a lot of scenes in the worlds Burroughs created. These include both Tarzan’s Earth and John Carter’s Mars (or Barsoom). Here are Joe’s stylish covers for the Warlord of Mars: Fall of Barsoom mini-series published by Dynamite in 2011-12.
