Spending the evening outdoors at the family farm with a good book. Have you read this? What did you think? I remember reading about Betty and Barney in elementary school and being absolutely fascinated by their experience.

A Linocut Feathursday
Cuckoos, Gulls. Pelicans, Quails, and Swans; just some of the featured feathers in Brigitte Hanf’s A Bestiary: Twenty-six Linocuts with poems by John Fuller, printed in Oxford, England, at Fuller’s well-regarded Sycamore Press in 1968. This book, actually a small portfolio of printed cards, was one of the first publications to come off the press, which was founded in in 1968 and closed in 1992 after publishing some of the most influential and critically acclaimed writers of the late 20th century. We featured other linocut animals from this card set in a Staff Pick by our former graduate intern Elizabeth in 2016.

I’d like you even if you were malign and had a yen for sudden homicide. I’d let you put insecticide into my wine. I’d even like you if you were the Bride of Frankenstein or something ghoulish out of Mamoulian’s Jekyll and Hyde. I’d even like you as my Julian of Norwich or Cathleen ni Houlihan. How melodramatic if you were something muttering in attics like Mrs Rochester or a student of Boolean Mathematics.
Valentine, by John Fuller
