It's Caturday! This big cat comes from our Fischetti collection. The cartoonist used translucent paper to do his shading and lining on two different sheets, a traditional drawing technique known as "onionskinning." The gif shows both layers and the final product.

Covering various political topics during this time, Fischetti's illustrations address the Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, and Carter presidencies, foreign and domestic affairs, elections, the economy, public health, and civil rights.
