A little snippet from what I imagine a fully realised Pokémon TCG manga might look like.
In a manga adaptation of the second game, The Invasion of Team GR!, I picture Mint as a separate protagonist. She’s a newcomer to TCG Island and is just beginning her journey to become a card duelist at Dr Mason’s lab. When Team GR suddenly appears and steals everyone’s cards, Mint doesn’t hesitate, she’s determined to help Mark and Ronald track them down.
As once the inheritor of the legendary Pokémon cards , Mark takes every opportunity along the way to train Mint, showing her the ropes as they travel on their journey to track down and defeat team GR. What starts as basic guidance quickly turns into something more, Mint proves to be a natural, learning fast and developing a sharp, confident (sometimes cocky) duelling style of her own.
By the time King Villicci and Team GR are finally defeated, Mint is no longer a rookie. To commemorate their victory, Mark and Mint decide to face off in an epic duel, master versus student! And while Mark may be a legendary duelist, Mint is now more than capable of giving him a run for his money!
