lennon's it's really not fucking about acid vs. mccartney's secret love letter to weed
need moonstarr so bad actually
i'll give the styling department that they definitely put in an effort, but man. the 12 minute comedy conspiracy film still has better likeness by a mile.
foremostly i think the most contingent part of making the 2027 biopics good is committing to the bit formalistically speaking, and on that note, having the same guy direct all of them is probably a mistake.

thinking about "something" again because aside from being a great fucking song it's also really exemplerary of how george has a tendency to write songs that are not necessarily "catchy" per se but want you to chase them. there's a motion to "something" that always leaves me wanting, the chorus is two lines long, it's the set-up, punchline, capped off by the zippy guitar bit and then it's onto the next bit.
if the four verses theory of "come together" is true...john's being the most obvious and overt with walrus gumboots and ono sideboards/burns...but the ending line being "hold you in his armchair/s, yeah you can feel his disease"...that is as much a john line written by john about himself as "got to be good looking 'cause he's so hard to see" is a paul line.
mccartney-leninism, now that's what i call rewriting history
