ive been seeing a bunch of posts on tiktok and tumblr alike talking about how jinx is malnourished whenever the topic of her body comes up, in specific a tiktok i saw had clips of jinx with the text ‘body tea’ on the screen and all of the comments were talking about how she was underfed or unhealthy and it just gets so annoying

BUT i'm doing some studies from time to time so i can atleast upgrade my anatomy insights before contiuning to actually draw something

In this modern AU, Powder grew up not knowing much about her biological father because he died early on, right before she was born. Felicia and Vi often tell her about Connol, but they don't satisfy her curiosity and it wasn't as fantastical nor memorable for her.

(Note: Connol is a good man and Felicia loves him dearly. Powder is just an eccentric child 😅)

Unlike Vi who has more (or little) time with their father, Powder relies on her imagination to paint a picture of her father and what his influence would be on her. Since she likes drama and theatrics, she imagines her father to be a Kirin or a Changeling who fell in love with an Earth Pony that is her mother. Mind you, she's an 11-12 year-old child who has access to the internet in the late 2000s to early 2010s, when My Little Pony and other cartoons were on the rise. She gets influenced by other artists on the internet, mainly on Deviantart and other fan forums.

Somewhere in her writing phase, she ends up venting on paper about being a bit different than other children in her school, positioning her creativity in a raw light to allow her to express herself. She ends up designing her pony-sona in her ideal self-image as a grown up with a strange horn, telling herself it is fair to depict herself as an outcast.

As for her drawing herself with Ekko, it is most likely she is still confused about her feelings towards him (whether platonic or romantic) since she's just a child, and her views are likely influenced by what she consumes on the early internet (hell, she watches Happy Tree Friends when her mother is away). Fanarts and fanfics on the internet at that time are....questionable, so she has that weird idea of them as ponies flirting with each other. (This isn't to say that she dwells on very problematic content--- that is NOT the point of this post 😅)

Ekko is aware of this and doesn't really mind it. He's just there to support. If anything, he does the same, but with Pokémon and imagines them as pokemon trainers 😅💕

He even gives her a Twilight Sparkle plushie on her birthday, as well as stickers of pokemon she likes (they made a friendship bracelet too).
