(Dear Lexi, Much like Dee....Suffer. Love, Audrey. @lethallycute )
It was just another day for Lexi. Her Friday started with an eight ‘o’ clock class. Thankfully, her Fridays always ended at noon. Her friend called her following her last class so they could grab lunch and hang out. She sighed with a bit of guilt, she had been putting off hanging out ever since he left for the world tour. Shaking her head she continued to head towards a new sushi restaurant near campus. It took a few minutes to reach the set destination. As she looked at the front of the building she began to worry…usually she was always the one to show up last.
“Where could she be?” She muttered to herself.
“Lex!” A voice called out.
A girl stood up and waved at her. Initially she was taken aback because she though it was a stranger but, as she drew closer she realized who it was.
“Audrey?” She asked.
A girl with a large smile eagerly nodded at her in response.
“Didn’t recognize me?”
“No…not really. You changed your hair so often. It looks like…..”
“Cotton candy?”
Lexi nodded. It was true, her hair looked like a lion’s mane except it was light blue. The two looked at each other for a minute before laughing. With smiles they went inside to get their food. There weren’t many people so they were served very quickly. As they sat and ate the smiles faded, Audrey’s face grew serious.
“Lex…you haven’t really been doing anything for the last few months. I have been trying but you can cut yourself off just because he is gone for the moment. C’mon…”
“I know…it’s been ten months. It is just kinda odd sometimes. He isn’t here for our campout nights in the living room. It might be different if we didn’t live together. Not having him in the bed bothers me….I can only take up but so much space in that king size bed. You understand right?”
A mass of blue hair moved up and down in response.
“Of course. I feel the same way…the only difference is the lack of home cooked smells and a little less laughter is around me.”
The two gave a curt laugh before sighing. The waiter bought the check and they paid. The two of them left to wander about the city until something caught they’re attention. The snow crunched beneath their boots as they walked. At some point they wandered into the Astronomy building of the natural science museum. The dome ceiling and canvas walls depicted stars, galaxies and depths of space. The scene slowly began to zoom into the Milky Way then into the solar system. It drew closer to the sun until the room glowed white. The scene of a sunrise began to play out before their eyes. The two of them stood there with mouths slightly agape at the beauty.
Audrey let out a small chuckle.
“What’s so funny?”
“It’s just….every time we watch a sun rise or it’s a really sunny day he always says—“
Before she could finish a large shadow appeared behind the canvas…it was a person with their arms up in a heart. The two were confused until a soft voice came on the speaker.
“Oh the sun is out…you are loved…this day is full of beauty. Just like you….!”
The canvas lifted slightly and someone came out with open arms.
“JIN!!?!??! OH MY GOD YOU’RE HOME!!” She yelled.
She was a blur of blue as her boots clacked across the floor. She eagerly leapt into his arms a shrill squeal came out as she hugged on him. Her arms and legs wrapped around him like a koala. Lexi watches from a few feet away with a slightly sad smile.
“How!?!? You weren’t supposed to be back for at least another month!!!”
“I had to come home to celebrate Christmas with my mischievous, little monster.” He joked.
She just kissed him all over his face. As Lexi looked on awkwardly, a figure quietly crept up behind her.
“I just want you for my own….More than you could ever know…” A familiar voice sang.
Startled she turned around prepared to swing when she saw pink hair. Her body froze.
“Make my wish come true….All I want for Christmas is you.” He continued to sing.
“Ji-Jimin? You’re…home?!”
A bright smile spread on his face as he dangled a mistletoe between the two of them before softly kissing her. The warmth between the two of them spread throughout their bodies. Slowly they came apart.
“I’m home for Christmas…and it’s going to be amazing.”
Her eyes welled up as she pulled him close to her.
“Best. Present. Ever.” She whispered.
