I was a little bit hit by Childhood Nostalgia because of my new story about a girl and her horse and the fact that a series I really loved to watch when I was kid, is no longer on TV.
Idk if any of you remember Horseland. I used to watch it very often when I was younger and it still holds a special place in my heart. It was a cute little show, which tackled in some episodes with some very serious topics. Like in the episode Mosey, it’s a about loss and grief. This episode makes me til this day so fucking sad, it was definitely one of the best and is with Fire Fire Burning bright, up to my favorites. And it had the two best characters hugging each other and being there for each other and showed out of all the other characters, that these two have an especially strong bond. I still ship Will and Sarah, they are just made for each other and would’ve deserved to become a couple in the show, they clearly had feelings for each other.
But I wish we could get a spin off series of Horseland where they would age up the cast and tackle some more adult themes, so that also older fans, like me could revisit this series. For example what happened to Wills biological family? Or what are the plans from the Horseland Team for the future aside from riding? Explore the feeling’s Will and Sarah clearly have for each other. How they deal with it now that they are older? Or show us more the gap between the rich kids of Horseland and the middle class ones. Show us the dark side of equestrian sport and let the Horseland characters play off on this. Also I would like if they would give the horses a new design inspired by spirit. I‘ve never seen such beautiful animated horses like in Spirit.
Also I personally think more shows should go more in the direction, especially animated ones, of Chaos Theory and the Dragon Prince. Because man, these shows are on fire. Take notes every other TV show.
For now, Rest in Peace lovely Horseland. Hope someone will find you and give you a banger of a comeback someday in the future. I would do it, because you inspired me again for something really special and great.
