The open cluster Stephenson 1 // Josef Büchsenmeister
The bright orange star at the center is Jiantai (δ² Lyrae), a member of the star cluster and gives the cluster its other name, the Delta Lyrae Cluster. Jiantai is a red supergiant star about 770 light years away. Its name comes from Chinese astronomy, referring to the asterism Jiàn Tái (渐台) meaning "clepsydra terrace."
