meeting his blind date, @jiahcwn

it was typical for hyunsu to return home on his off days. he loved spending time with his mother, even if it meant helping her out at her tailor shop. the two would often catch up with each other over a kettle of hot tea, and more than often his mother would whine about how he was still a bachelor.

this time was not much different from the rest.

the whole time was spent with his mom nagging him to get married quickly. she went on and on about how so-and-so’s eldest son was married off already, and yet here hyunsu was, flirting with everyone that he found attractive. hyunsu listened, although there was not much he could do. he was sure the queen was hesitant to send him off to be wed again after the previous incident. all he could do was sit there and listen, and of course, take his mother’s request to go on a blind date.

it was nothing serious anyways, just a simple blind date. the two would probably never see each other again. however, hyunsu couldn’t say that he wasn’t excited. and how could he not be with the way his mother spoke of the mystery person. she described the girl as someone beautiful both inside and out, someone with a heart of gold. she claimed the girl had the most genuine smile and soft brown eyes that were warm and inviting. perhaps this match wasn’t made to be, but hyunsu was willing to take a chance for someone that heavenly.

what a delight it was to find herself in this kingdom once again. since she came so often, most times because she just wanted to, she had already familiarized herself with the building and knew which rooms to visit to bother her friends as well as which places to go when she wanted some entertainment (because how could she pass on an opportunity of not walking around the opera? certainly not ahyoung!) as much as she enjoyed being in the same kingdom as her best friend, she definitely could imagine herself living in the hearts kingdom as well. though she hears people’s mixed feelings about the queen, she still liked most of the people who resided in that kingdom. she says most, because there’s a certain prince that she can’t seem to get along with. 

but her visit was not for him! in fact, she’d much rather avoid him and visit her sweet sister eunae instead! or she could see if her crush, baek nabi, was here so that she could see what she was up to and take that as an opportunity to get more closer to her! or she could stop by tsuki’s room and say hi to her and check in on how she was doing. regardless of what others thought of the queen, she thought that the residents of the hearts kingdom were a bunch of lovely people! 

as she’s wrapping her head around who to run into, she finds herself mindlessly walking, looking around the architecture of the magnificent building. this time, she hopes she doesn’t look lost because she certainly wasn’t. she was just going wherever her feet decided to lead her to. and how unfortunate it is to lead her to none other than one of the marble columns that held the ceiling above the ground! 

before she notices, it was already too late: she had run into the pole, falling back and landing on her ass like a damn fool while her hand rests on her forehead as a result of the pain. “ahh! fuck!” she hisses in pain. she doesn’t know why she never learns from this. it’s simply obvious that if she wanted to avoid these situations from happening more than once, she should just simply WATCH WHERE SHE’S GOING and BE MINDFUL ENOUGH TO NOT MAKE HERSELF GET INTO STUPID SITUATIONS. but alas, here she is, in a stupid situation that is entirely her fault. 

yurye is  - once again - wandering the heart’s palace without his private knight. he’s sure that the amount of stress his knight has been shouldering dealing with him recently has been through the roof. if yurye’s not able to convince them to leave so that he can attempt finding princess eunae alone, then he orders them to do a mediocre task that will make sure to take their time. such as the one he had just sent them to do, instructing that they help identify a long list of books that yurye was looking to collect copies for his personal library back home.

of course, it’s only when he’s present in secure places like the palaces and only when he’s familiar with his surroundings. there’s no way yurye would ever put his private knight’s title in jeopardy. and they both know that should anything, yurye is more than capable enough to hold his own ground in the face of danger, with or without a weapon. 

this is a strong belief yurye holds and he knows his private knight trusts him just as much as he does. why else would his knight abide by his requests? (not considering the few times yurye will raise the playful threat of ‘are you defying my orders?’ to get his way when he absolutely needs it). 

so, it comes as a big surprise and shock to yurye when he’s walking down the open courtyard hall, admiring the small interior garden and he suddenly hears a pair of footsteps rushing towards him from behind. his first thoughts are that a palace maid is late on finishing a task, running to get to where she needs to before being reprimanded. however, before he turn around to see what the situation is, he’s knocked down straight into the ground.

it takes everything in yurye to hold back the string of curse words threatening to fall from his lips as he tries to reorient his mind while laying there on the ground in pain. 

what the fuck was going on? who in their right mind would have the audacity to attack a prince of his rank on palace grounds in broad daylight?

yurye lets out a loud groan to express his ache before easily shoving the body holding him down, off of him.

“who do you think you are to attack a prince-” he begins to question his perpetrator before his eyes fall on the face of the irritating, one and only, private knight of princess eunae. royal knight kwon jiah.
