@hgeunha !!
routine was something her life heavily relied on , not only in the way of repeated pattern in her schedule , but as well in the people she’d meet &. conversations she’d have. sans a few and far in between days that brought excitement and changed the arrangement of her heartbeat , everything was the same . the same thumping music , the familiar pattern of the lights , the mostly recognisable people in front of the bar and others cramped onto the dance floor &&. to be completely honest , there were days she found comfort in familiarity ---- if everyday was the same , nothing could go wrong and she’d have complete control over her life.
jamie’s head was bouncing with the beat of the music &. her hands working effortlessly to pour drinks while she greeted everyone with the smile and an occasional glance , BUT !! wait a minute ----- who was that ?? it was not more than a few seconds that her line of sight was clear and she saw a woman she’d never seen before , there , dancing in the middle of the floor &&. their eyes met in a fleeting moment before another patron stood in front and demanded a drink. it almost didn’t feel real , that one captivating gaze that shushed the entire nightclub , and it was definitely her mind playing tricks but she stood out in a way that no one ever did , like a spotlight that shone brightly on her and everything else was white noise.
it was ridiculous to think that a few seconds had affected her so much , she almost laughed at how dumb it would’ve sounded if anyone could hear the thoughts in her head , but it was nothing , it was just curiosity ---- nothing more. YET , no matter how many people piled up and no matter how much she tried to distract herself , her mind kept rewinding to that moment , that moment that had her looking up every few seconds for the woman who so boldly changed the speed of her heartbeat with just one look.
