You might see both Raya and Mỵ Châu fell in the “beauty trap”. Trọng Thủy/Namaari gave Mỵ Châu/Raya a love item (fur coat/sisu amulet).

Mỵ Châu/Raya led their trusted partner to the secret place hiding the treasure. Their partner betrayed them, stole/broke the treasure, which protected the land, then chaos broke out, their father sacrificed himself. While hiding, Mỵ Châu/Raya left traits so that their partner could find them.

In the end, the pearl/gem got brighter because of their love. But Raya has much happier ending.
