The original impetus for this came from me reading Jack Kirby's Bicentennial Battles and deciding that Steve experiences so much absolutely bonkers stuff in it that he would definitely win and/or lose an Avengers drinking game, and then literally nothing from it has appeared in this WIP so far, but that's what happens sometimes, I guess.

Okay, so... you know that genre of MCU Steve/Tony fic where everyone decides they're going to try to get Steve drunk at a party for funsies and he gets some Asgardian mead or whatever and then he gets totally plastered and declares his love for Tony?

This is one of those, except it's 616, so that particular setup is... pretty emotionally fraught for Tony.

It's slightly after Fear Itself (it's set at the party for Jan at the end of Avengers v4), so Tony has a lot of feelings about Steve being drunk in the first place. No one actually thought Steve was going to be able to get drunk, so they kept handing him drinks, and Steve did not tell anyone that this was his plan, but he decided to see if he could drink enough to forget about everything he did while on the Secret Avengers. (Look, I didn't say Steve had a good relationship to alcohol.)

So the Avengers play Never Have I Ever, featuring a bunch of salacious revelations (most but not all of which are canonical), and then Steve decides now would be a great time to climb into Tony's lap and proposition him, and he's too drunk to figure out why Tony, who definitely is interested in him, keeps telling him now is not a good time for this. Tony loves him! He loves Tony! This is very confusing!

Tony, meanwhile, is having what is simultaneously the best and worst night of his life, because this is everything he has ever wanted but Steve is drunk and there is so much liquor on Steve's breath and it's getting harder to remember why this is a bad idea.

Anyway, this is like 90k because for the past couple years all the fic I have tried to write has ended up being extremely decompressed, and also I got as far as writing the morning after the party and then didn't feel like actually writing the porn, so for the moment I have just left them hanging. I am hoping to get back to it someday.
