In front of the President sit the number two and number three. Yan Lewis the Vice President, and Jess Franks the A.S.B. Secretary. Their desks are the prime example of two approaches the the same outcome, excellence in creating fear among the student body. Jess and Yan’s desk both have storage that opens in the front. Yan Lewis’ desk is filled with binders, loose paper, and pens without caps. Nothing is more terrifying than the moment when Yan finally finds the binder or memo she is looking for, because it will ultimately prove she is right no matter the situation. Jess Franks’ desk sits in complete aesthetic opposition. Jess’ desk is completely empty and her laptop is the only thing on her desk. The minimal singular fear her laptop embodies is expounded by the chaotic distress Yan’s desk creates. The aesthetic differences in the desks also translate in their personalities. Yan’s mood is visible from a distance, and is made worse more easily than better. If she’s crossed a barrage of words is liable to follow. Jess’ is her laptop. She is a stoic sleeping reaper of objectivity. Like the facts she pulls from her laptop she is respected and feared for her objectivity. It is generally considered law if Jess makes an observation. Jess told a classmate once she didn’t look good blonde, the next day she died her hair even though she was a natural blonde. So sits the gate keepers next to the President. If Yan and Jess represent the strong arms of the respectable President, the the next two desks, both decorated with tickets and personal name plates, represent the hands that give and the hands that take from the student body. The A.S.B Treasurer and the Senior Class President.
