A Missouri man will spend the rest of his life in jail after authorities say he killed his wife and parents after his in-laws refused to leave his home.

Huy will serve three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. According to online court documents seen by PEOPLE, Huy told police investigators that his wife's parents came to help him recover from back surgery. As the visit dragged on, Huy was tired and eager to have her home. "I felt invaded, I didn't feel respected," Huy reportedly told investigators, reports The Associated Press. "I got out, took my gun and shot all three victims in less than a minute." All three victims were shot in the head as they sat at the kitchen table.

After shooting his family members, Huy allegedly called 911 and reported the murders. The 911 dispatcher asked Huy why he did it. According to court filings, Huy responded by saying, "Well, they didn't want to leave. I waited a week for them to leave. I've had enough." Huy then told the dispatcher that he would not oppose the deputies if they arrested him. Huy, now 50, was due to appear in court in October. Just before opening the pleadings, he changed his guilty plea. He was detained pending his official sentencing. Huy's lawyers say they have no intention of appealing his conviction.
