Some of my early game tips:

1. Buy Rosaries items. the 20 or so lost pet purchase is worth it over losing hundreds

2. use all the options you have during combat. You want to be dashing, floating, pogo-ing, throwing tools. Your heal will stop you in midair and is comes out quick.

3. That said, play fast slowly. Generally in games, the less time your enemy is alive, the less time they have to kill you. You want to deal damage quickly, without getting hit. So your first few times on a boss, focus on dodging only. once you can go basically indefinitely, start figuring out how to add in attacks. The more DPS the better, but Hornet cannot tank at all. You should be bouncing all over, running in and out for attacks, with the expectation it is a war attrition.

4. Pretty much everything is a puzzle, and they are all meant to be solved. The world is trying to tell you it's secrets- watch out for breaks in the patterns of designs to find secrets or avoid traps. for bosses that seem insurmountable, they are also a nut to be cracked. Seems like it's calling for AOE and you don't have that? Maybe address your positioning, or go find some AOE!
