“Cole, we need you” – Anne exclaimed, “It won’t be the same without you” – Diana spoke after Anne.

You pouted your lips “Please Cole” – you started to beg by giving him your puppy eyes.

All three of you started to crawl closer to him, invading his personal space.

“I … I... I’ll see what I can do” – he held his hands in front of him to hold the three of you back.

“I knew you would come around” – Diana patted him on his knee, you placed your basket on your lap and showed Cole a cookie “I knew you couldn’t resist my cookies”.

“If you’re not careful enough, I might eat it right now!” – Cole teased you as he tried to grab the cookie from you.

You squealed and quickly placed the cookie back, where it was safe from Cole’s hunger.

Miss. Stacey then rang the school bell, you all got up and walked over to the table where Miss. Stacey’s items were.

After a very interesting day, you walked with Diana and Anne to Green Gables.

On the way to Anne’s house, you noticed the two of them whispering to each other.

You shook your head smiling as you had an idea it was about Jerry’s crush on you.

As they kept whispering to each other, your mind was with Jerry. What would he say this time to you? should you finally tell him that you understand everything he says? Should I be bold about it or tease him a bit more? Should I tell him I feel the same way?

The thoughts that were swirling around your mind didn’t make it easier for you. What were you supposed to do? Will he hate you after he finds out you are fluent in French? “I can’t think about it” – you shook your head, trying to shake the thoughts away.

“Were here” – Anne awoke you from your thoughts as she ran towards the fence.

The three of you then made a quick race, “Last one at house is a chicken!” – Anne shouted as she ran off.

Diana and you looked at each other and ran after Anne, as you were near the stables you heard a sudden voice.

“Bonjour Y/n” – you stopped running and walked over to the entrance of the stable.

You saw Jerry brushing the horse. “Hello Jerry” – you waved ladylike to him.

He started to blush and stopped brushing for a few moments.

“Tu es la plus jolie fille que j'ai jamais vu” (You are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen) – you tried to hide your blush from him as you looked around for Anne or Diana.

Anne and Diana had stopped at her house and were looking around for you, once they saw you standing near the stables. Anne shouted at you “Chicken!”

You stuck out your tongue to her and Anne replied your action by sticking out her tongue.

You then laughed soft as your eyes met Jerry’s again. “What were you saying?” – you tried your best to sound as dumb as you could.

“Nothing … Nothing Y/n” – Jerry held his hands up and shook his head.

You gave him a sceptic look “But I just heard you say something in French to me? You’re not saying something weird about me or something?”

“No, never Y/n” – you heard a bit of anger in his voice. You frowned a bit at his comment.

Anne ran over to you and tangled her arm around yours, she then spoke directly to Jerry “Jerry, how much I adore this” – she motioned her hand between the two of you “but Y/n is here for me so …”

“I understand Anne, I was just about to work further anyway” – Jerry lowered his head as he held his one hand against the horse.

Anne wanted to lead you away from him, but you first stroke the horse’s forehead. “It was nice seeing you again Jerry” – he lifted his head and you gave him a quick wink, which made his heart skip a beat.

You walked further with Anne as Jerry laughed soft “Elle devient ma femme un jour” (She will be my wife one day) – you had heard him, and your heart was overfilled with joy.

Where you dreaming, or did you just heard Jerry say that he wanted you as his wife one day? During your time that you were playing with Diana and Anne you couldn’t stop thinking about what Jerry said.

“Earth to Y/n?” – Anne waved her hands in front of you since it was clear you weren’t paying any attention anymore.

You blinked a few times and looked at the two of them, who just started to laugh.

You laughed shy with them as Jerry’s word still could be heard in the back of your mind.

“Anne, your friend is here” – you heard Marilla call out as she stood at the foot of the stairs.

The three of you got up and walked over to the window, where you watched Cole walk towards the house.

“Last one is a chicken!” – you were the first now to run and leave Anne and Diana speechless.

Running down the stairs you hoped you wouldn’t just meet Cole but Jerry as well. You thought now was a good time telling him how you felt about him.

You heard Anne and Diana run behind you and you ran faster than ever. You heard Marilla shout out your name as you pushed open the door and left it open.

There was only one thing on your mind “Jerry!”. Cole noticed you and smiled as he saw you run up to him.

You quickly jumped into his arms “good to see you Cole but I gotta run” – you released yourself from his embrace and ran towards the stables.

Cole looked back at you totally confused “Y/n! where are you going?” – you heard him call out.

“Jerry!” – you shouted as you were near the stables. You shouted so loud Jerry jumped out of his skin and dropped the brush.

He quickly walked out of the barn confused “Wha … what’s wrong?”

“Jerry!” – you called out again and Jerry stood frozen as you ran towards him. Finally, you were near him and you jumped into his arms.

“Y/n?” – Jerry called out as you hung around his neck “Is everything alright?”

“Just hold me” – you whispered to him and Jerry tightened his grip around you, burring his head between your hair.

Anne and Diana had caught up with Cole and looked confused at you “I don’t understand what Is happening?” – Cole exclaimed as Diana and Anne were by his side.

“This is it!” – Anne clapped her hands together and almost started to cry.

You released yourself from his grip and held your hands on his shoulder. “J'aimerais être votre femme” (I would love to be your wife) – Jerry started to gape at you.

“You … you speak French?” – he sighed a few times as he placed his hand against his head.

You immediately looked down, thinking this maybe wasn’t such a good idea.

“I’m sorry” – you said soft as you made your way back to Anne.

Jerry was having a hard time understanding what had just happened. “Y/n can speak French? So, all those things I said to her she understood perfectly?”

As you made your way to Anne, Diana and Cole you wiped away some tears “I lost him” – you whispered to yourself.

You saw as Diana was looking at you with pouted lips and Cole gave you a heartbroken look.

Anne had dimed her enthusiasm as you opened your arms ready to hug all three of them.

All three of them pulled you close for a group hug, Diana hushed you as Cole softly rubbed  your back.

“I’m a fool” – you said between your tears. “Oh no Y/n” – Diana pulled you close again for a hug.

Anne was already giving Jerry death looks, “How can he do something like this, I thought he liked you?”

Jerry had finally come to his senses “I can’t lose her like this!” – He then started to run towards the four of you.

You wiped some tears away as you were standing with your back at Jerry. You noticed the three of them look past you frowning.

“Y/n!” – you heard behind you, you were stubborn and refused to give him any attention.

You then felt two hands grab yours and spin you around. Before you could say anything, Jerry pressed his lips against yours.

Anne, Diana and Cole all gaped at the display, Jerry started to cup your cheek as you closed your eyes. Letting his lips become one with yours.

After a few moments he pulled away and started to rub your cheek soft with his thumb “Mi amor” (My love).

“Mi amor” – you replied as you kissed him again.

Anne was jumping around, shaking Diana back and forth as Cole kept smiling at the two of you.

Cole then started to push Anne and Diana away from the two of you “Let’s give them a moment”

Anne tried to protest but Cole gave her a typical look, so she had to obey him.

Jerry started to stroke your face with his hands as he wanted to make sure that you were real.

You cupped his cheek and placed a soft kiss on his noise, he chuckled soft as your lips touched his skin.

He then tangled your fingers with his and started to walk with you, enjoying these moments with you.
