I haven't found much of a Snowfall fandom on tumblr but that show is so good. I can imagine why (tho I'm sure if I barely tried I'd find simps for the Token White Guy CIA agent) but the queer relationships and undertones add another level to the abundant tragedy to Franklin and Louie fr.
To be real, any queer reading you can get from Franklin stands in the shadow of him being violently misogynistic. THAT SAID... Franklin and Teddy have such a fraught friendship. Held up by women who don't deserve them (Parissa my beautiful sadistic baddie lesbianism would save you)
LOUIE HOWEVER??? My beautiful power-hungry bisexual was a gem. God forbid she girlbossed too close to the sun. Her and Jerome were so, so, sweet. And her abusive relationship to Claudia is treated like a sapphic stepping stone but it does tell an interesting tragedy about aligning with power, even through the lens of heteronormativity in light of something so much larger like the crack epidemic. There's also a few more allusions to queer women that tbh makes me feel like I'm feasting on breadcrumbs but I'll take it.
Anyway I'll be glad if this reaches even one person who's watched the show. This is my penance for not getting into The Wire yet (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩)
