Batwoman #217 “Kane, Kate”

Ryan finds herself feeling on the outs as the team welcomes back Kate.

After getting her motorcycle back, Kate goes for a ride through Chicago Gotham using unused footage from season one including trips down North Wells Street, West Wacker Drive, and the intersection of Madison & Upper Wacker.

Back in Vancouver, she arrives at the CBC Broadcast Centre where she reveals herself to be a bit more Circe than Kate when she meets with Roman and Safiyah to hand over Kate’s journals.

Inside an cubicle farm in the Cathedral Place Building, Ryan steals a laptop from the False Face Society’s accountant.

She drives her van back to her old spot in Crab Park to go over the contents of the laptop but is interrupted by the police who plant evidence.

Alice heads down to Jericho Beach to spread Ocean’s ashes and is joined by Safiyah who wants her to return to Coryana.

The clouds were low, but my spirits, they’re high ♥️

Having an early bus back to Vancouver can mean only one thing: the breakfast of Canadian Champions.

It’s really smoggy, so I didn’t do any outdoor activities besides walking. Case in point: the building I’m not saying is a haunted mansion straight outta Derry... but is totally a haunted mansion straight outta Derry.

Vancouver is not supposed to look like a Stephen King novel, okay? It just isn’t. And yes, that’s where I’m sleeping tonight. 

But in my walking adventure, I did get a pasta fix from the Basil Pasta Bar by building my own pasta of linguine, pesto cream sauce, chorizo, peas, and spinach with parmesan flakes. While it wasn’t the fresh pasta I’ve been wanting to try since watching Antoni on Queer Eye, it did hit the spot.

I stayed there to get the rough draft of my Lady Knight(s) story done, and then moved on to a used and new bookshop called Pulpfiction Books. I told myself I’d only get one, but ended up with two new, pre-owned books before I went on the hunt for 720 Sweets. And yes, I did get the Taiyaki!

That there is the Classic, with cereal milk soft serve, cornflake crumbles, shortbread cookie, and condensed milk drizzle-- all shoved into a taiyaki cone. The taiyaki is kind of like a stiff croissant-- the dough is a little salty, but the outside is coated in a sweetened glaze. The cone flakes everywhere, on every bite, so my light reading had to wait until I was finished.

They had some other treats I wanted to try, so I’m going to try to go back tomorrow before I head back to city center. The taiyaki is filling, so I would plan accordingly. Also, the shop is tiny, so either hit an off-peak time or plan to-go.
