Naturally, Kristen as furious about the revelation. She was sick and tired of Daniel keeping secrets from her and straight up lying about his past. He didn't even try to defend himself or deny Angela's words. He immediately confessed he ruined his first marriage by cheating with the maid and getting her pregnant.
It was even more infuriating when he admitted to completely abandoning the baby and never wanting anything to do with it. He had no idea if it's a girl or a boy, what age are they now and what's their name. Kristen immediately figured out he's basically giving Howie the same treatment, even if he acknowledges his existence.
Of course, Daniel tried pulling out the victim card, but no one felt bad for him. Jennifer was also tired of defending her idiot brother and made it clear he's on his own this time.

“Incorporating recent archaeological discoveries and scholarly perspectives, Jennifer Larson explores the variety of cults celebrated by the Greeks, how these cults differed geographically, and how each deity was conceptualized in local cult titles and rituals. This volume will serve as a companion to the many introductions to Greek mythology, showing a side of the Greek gods to which most students are rarely exposed. For example, the worship of Zeus Meilichios in the form of a snake strongly contrasts with the Homeric image of the Olympian god. Similarly, some literary portraits of Aphrodite indicate that she was sometimes worshiped as an armed (or even a bearded) goddess.
Surveying ancient Greek religion through the cults of its gods and goddesses, heroes and heroines, Ancient Greek Cults: A Guide is detailed enough to be used as a quick reference tool or text, yet provides a readable account focusing on the oldest, most widespread, and most interesting religious practices of the ancient Greek world in the Archaic and Classical periods. Including an introductory chapter on sources and methods, and suggestions for further reading, this book will allow readers to gain a fresh perspective on Greek religion.”
“Early Archaic Zeus was a rain-making, agricultural deity, sometimes paired with Ge or Demeter, and worshiped at altars constructed on mountain peaks. Disturbing myths of child sacrifice were elements in several of his cults. These can be explained as imported Near Eastern themes or as the mythic expression of initiation practices through which symbolic death led to rebirth in a new stage of life. Later, Zeus was drawn from his rural haunts into the city center, where he presided in a general way over the realm of politics, yet rarely became the patron deity of an individual city. Instead, he was acknowledged as the most powerful of the Olympians through the establishment and growth of his Panhellenic sanctuaries at Olympia, Nemea, and Dodona. His cults typically reinforce traditional sources of authority and standards of behavior, whether in the family, the kinship group, or the city.”

Kristen tried to apologize to the guests for Daniel's choice of garments for the party, but the ladies were unfortunately used to his odd personality by now.
Kristen overheard Daniel chatting with his daughter and being very secretive about something. Angela might've been a little fed up with her father's shenanigans and lies, especially after having to deal with Romeo almost leaving her before. Not being very subtle, she brought up Daniel's affair with the main that caused the divorce and mentioned hearing from her mom about Kaylynn getting pregnant out of this.
Daniel wasn't even around when his son was blowing the candles. He completely forgot about the party and kept himself busy in the gym downstairs. The only reason Kristen didn't drag him by the ear was because she didn't want to make a scene in front of his family.
Angela awkwardly tried to bond with her little brother, but the age gap between the two was just too big. Howie completely didn't understand the idea of this woman being his sister. She seemed ancient in his child eyes.
Kristen used the opportunity to talk with Jennifer and mentioned being tired of her brother. She knew this could potentially end their friendship, but she didn't care anymore.
Normally, Jennifer would try convincing her to hold Daniel close. Even if just to make sure she doesn't have to take care of his idiot brother again. However, she grew to like Kristen a lot and she genuinely felt bad about this poor girl being stuck with Daniel in this mess.
For Howard's next birthday, the Pleasants wanted to invite a few relatives at least. Kristen invited Jennifer, since the two were friends anyway, but Daniel made the bold decision of inviting his daughter.
Angela might've been a little snarky around Kristen, even if she didn't want to be hostile around her. She just couldn't help still feeling salty about their father moving on and starting a family with a younger woman after having an affair with maid.
