I’m curious if you have an all time favorite fic? (Or top three:) maybe) and maybe why they’re your favorite? Because I have sometimes found myself reading a fic (even though the plot was SO bad) simply because I liked the writing style or structure. It has also been the other way around, don’t get me wrong. But I’m wondering if you’ve been desperate enough for a fic like me, to simply push through?🤪

I am incredibly picky and while I do enjoy a lot of Sincaraz fics, I will only recommend those I hold in the ABSOLUTE HIGHEST ESTEEM.

Any sign of out of character, super tropey writing, etc., I'll still like them and read them and will post about them, but if you're asking top tier, then they have to be within very fine margins.

But as I said, MANY SINCARAZ FICS ARE GREAT!!! My favorites might just give you insight on my own writing style more than the quality of the writers themselves on AO3.

Anyway, here are my absolute absolute faves in no particular order. Those in red are MUST READS. You might be thinking: But jello -- what about *insert fic here* ??? If it's not on the list, I had a reason. I've read every Sincaraz fic on AO3. Just trust me. 1) oh, simple thing - cute

Anyway!!! Here's a preview of Feint ch. 3:

"You're in heat," Jannik says in disbelief.

Carlos looks at him in terror. It's the fear Jannik's been chasing all match. But it's the wrong kind.

"I..." Carlos slumps down along the wooden panel of the lockers. "Yes. I need. I need help."

Jannik takes a step toward Carlos. He is soaked, head-to-toe-to -- Jannik gulps. Licks his lips.

Looks wildly around the locker room and eventually finds the emergency kit on the wall. A small red canvas bag imprinted with the white Alpha and Omega logos.

He grabs it. Gets on his knees next to Carlos and unzips the bag with shaky hands. Jannik breathes deeply, like a super tiebreak serve; it's best his hands are steady for this next part.

"Jannik," Carlos whispers.

Jannik turns to Carlos because he must. Carlos still looks afraid and Jannik can't have that.

He says, "I have the kit here. I will help you. It will be okay, Carlos. You will be okay. I am here."

He releases his own scent. Waves of rum and the same cinnamon Carlos is giving. This seems to ease Carlos, who closes his eyes.

Jannik searches the bag for what he needs.

Carlos' head tips forward into Jannik's neck. He takes a deep inhale.

"You smell so good, Jannik," he mumbles. One of his hands clutches the hem of Jannik's shirt.

Jannik drops the bag. Then, he puts a hand on Carlos' nape and pushes Carlos closer into his neck.

"Yes," he says. "You. You also. You smell."

He takes a deep breath of the top of Carlos' head. The hair tickles his nose. Carlos is the crispy fried dough in hot oil that he knows will taste of indulgence. Something that will burn his tongue and stick in his throat and leave him bloated and wanting.

"Amazing, Carlos," he says. "I want to..."

He gasps.

Carlos has stuck his tongue out and pressed it against Jannik's scent gland.

Here is my side of the story. You can choose to believe it or not.

I host all my images on imgbb because it's a free website that hosts images. I've been using it for many years now and it's just what I've found reliable at this point.

When I host images on imgbb it gives me a very convenient option of copy-pasting an embedded HTML link to put into the HTML code of Ao3 that I just copy and paste. I choose this option because -- well -- it's literally the first option and, as I have said, readers can then open the image and see a higher definition image rather than the crunchy one that shows up on Ao3. I work very hard on my moodboards and would like readers to see my full effort.

3. I have never heard of this Kudos Bot in my life. But, here are the facts behind this person's post after I have done thorough research behind their claims. If this still doesn't satisfy you, then I don't know what else to do and you can choose to believe them as much as you wish. I know the truth behind my hard work and all the passion and effort I pour into my writing.

My readers are real, they read my fics over and over, they are passionate about my writing, and I'm sorry that something else is going on in your life that you feel the need to lash out at me. Debunking @cant-stay-quiet's Claims of Bot Manipulation (all sources are embedded within the information)

Everything in the second post rests on one claim: that an image wrapped in a link creates "two-way traffic" or a "pathway for bots" to "follow back to AO3 and trigger hits."

However, when you wrap an image in a link, the link points outward to a destination. Wrapping an <img> inside an <a> tag makes the image clickable and redirects the user to a specified page. With imgbb's "linked image" embed code, that destination is imgbb's own viewer page. ImgBB offers both a direct link and a "linked image" (clickable thumbnail) option among its share formats. So the clickable version produces <a href="https://ibb.co/XXXX"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/XXXX.jpg"></a> -- the href points from the AO3 page to imgbb.

Both references on that page go the same way: outward. The <img src> tells the reader's browser to go fetch the picture from imgbb, and when a page loads it is the browser that fetches the image from the remote server and inserts it. The <a href> tells a click to navigate to imgbb. Nothing on the AO3 page contains a reference pointing back at itself, and nothing on imgbb's side contains a backlink to the AO3 fic. A crawler that landed on the fic and followed that link would leave AO3 for imgbb. The accusation is opposite of what would actually happen. A crawler arriving at imgbb would need to be ROUTED TO THE FIC, but there is no route from imgbb TO the fic.

This is what this person is accusing me of: That the IMAGES on imgbb are being ACCESSED by crawlers that are THEN following those images BACK to MY FANFIC. But how can this be? The images DO NOT contain the links to my fanfic. The images have NO links, the link of the images themselves DO NOT contain ANY links to my fanfics. They only have the "title" and "author name" which means the bots literally have to SEARCH my fanfic and author name ON ARCHIVE OF OUR OWN to access my fanfic and THEN LOAD THE FIC PAGE to give me hits. The fact that the images are clickable DO NOT MATTER. Whether or not they are linked to imgbb have NOTHING to do with bots being able to access my fic unless the bots GO DIRECTLY TO AO3 and SEARCH MY FANFIC.

I do not know well enough if bots are sophisticated enough to do the above, but if so -- I'm impressed. They are really going out of their way to give my fics hits.

Next, let's talk about their HTK/BTK argument. Let's think about this logically: You can only ever leave ONE kudo EVER. However, I frequently update my fanfics. So -- one reader leaves ONE kudo, but opens my fic over and over and registers as multiple hits. A bot opens my fanfic but leaves NO kudos. So a long WIP that readers return to every update racks up many hits per person while their kudos stays capped at one. It makes sense a fic like Liege has a lower HTK.

Now, let's say there's a Kudos Bot dumping Kudos on my fanfic as this person claims -- since they literally said the hits JUMPSTARTED the Kudos Bot. Then, my fics would have a HIGHTER HTK
