I haven't seen the new episodes but had a think about what I know now
What I don't really get is Steven calling Rose a war criminal, when she prevented the widespread use of shatter weapons. The war criminals are the diamonds, who bombed the earth from space with a weapon so terrible it corrupted gems beyond imagination. Then they intended for Earth to blow itself up.
All Rose did was kill a tyrant. Killing your enemies leaders is actually a very efficient and therefore relatively murderless way of running a rebellion/war.
