their little interactions/scenes together were so compelling, I was like WHAT the hell is going on here??? the way Chan looked at Big as he walked up to him after the fight with Porsche, leaning in and adjusting Big's tie in a way Big obviously reacted to, how he was very physically aware of Chan. How Chan doesn't punish him for breaking the rules, showing a little softness for him. How they run training together when Big is injured, seamlessly working together, like they've done this a million times before. When Big is spiraling at Kinn being kidnapped and lost in the woods, he goes to Chan for advice, because that's who he wants guidance from. There are a lot of other characters there Big could ask or express his worries to, so I think it's interesting he chooses to go to Chan, and what that might say about their relationship. How Chan gets him back into himself so easily, firm but not mean, and actually reassures him that Kinn will be okay. How Big looks more settled after the conversation. (Also Big's 🥺 face.)
What are your favorite things about the ship?
I love their unerring loyalty, their dedication to being the best (how else could they be in their respective positions?), how serious they both are most of the time. I think they'd really understand each other because they are very similar, and they'd find solace in someone else who understands them and their position completely. But I also like the tension their loyalty creates for both of them, the crisis that having feelings that contradict with their loyalty to the job would create for them, and how they'd have to balance it. I also enjoy the idea of Chan, who is very strict and fair, having a little soft spot for Big, who seems to want to be noticed, or be special, to someone. I think he'd want to make Chan proud of him or please him, and I like the idea of Chan wanting an excuse to give him praise. They can show each other their more vulnerable sides because they can trust the other completely (especially if they survive canon events). Also, even though I generally think of them as quite equal, they also have a fun age/power dynamic to explore if you want!
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
🤔 I am always unsure of what opinions are popular or unpopular............ hmmm..... okay so I am working on a fic about this rn so ill say I think Chan would enjoy bottoming sometimes with Big 😳 I think he enjoys being more in control, and he feels more in control when he's topping (which Big enjoys too hehe) but when he's more comfortable in the relationship I think he'd propose the idea to Big about switching (and Big would bluescreen before being like "fuck, yes") 🩷
