Well, I made it! The trip was long, but it was some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. The Alaskan Highway from Dawson Creek, BC to Tetlin, Alaska was gnarly and took both Wednesday and Thursday to drive. I was lucky enough to see black and brown bears, bison, elk, mountain goats, and even some moose. Here are some of pics of the bears and bison:
The road was crazy and there were so many places along the way that were incredibly beautiful! There were awesome rivers to post up at for a meal, unreal rock formations, beaches to drive on, and even weird stops like the sign post forest, which was massive and cannot be captured with only one photo.
The 3,600 miles seemingly flew by because I was excited to get to Talkeetna and I also barely slept, haha. I wanted to catch the brewery tasting room before they closed! I did it though, and I was able to have a couple yesterday at the tasting room, thanks Erin!
I have three to four days here in Talkeetna, but everyone here is recommending really cool places to hit up on the way home so I may take an extra day to make it home. The Liard Hot Springs sound so cool. I’m glad I remembered my bathing suit!
