He is not a clingy person, but Andrew holds his hand like an anchor.

"It's a yes. If you want to lie back," Andrew opens his arms slightly. Not enough that he is past the point of pretending that he had not. "Tell me if you want me to move." He leans back and his head lands softly on his chest. It takes some maneuvering for Jean to settle where his injuries will not stiffen or have too much pressure. Once he does, he sighs all of the air from his lungs. Andrew feels his own body do the same. He expects his heart to race, but all he feels is calm. His arms settle around Jean; they are closer now than they have ever been. Physically, because everything else feels separated by a wall of fire. A battlefield filled with land mines waiting to detonate at anything he says or does wrong. This will all be over before he knows it, just one blink away. He savors it while he can.

this is exactly how i feel !!!! like they're back together im so happy i could cry 😭😭😭 they have no idea how alright things will be able to get for them and they have a lot of things to talk about and work through but the point is they can they are able to talk and they have each other and they always will now

"Jean," he breathes out. No other words come to him. Laying with his head on his lap he can't do much. His legs are surely cramped, no part of his body could possibly feel comfortable after what he's endured in just the last few hours. But he's alive. He's alive and he's waking up and he's here with Andrew. Safe. Or rather, safe from Riko and the Nest and the Ravens. His safety with Andrew is not a topic he can broach now, it's not his to comment on anyhow. He tries to move his lips, looking for words that are lost on him in this state. When that fails he lifts a hand with significant strain. It falls back onto his chest over Andrew's own hand. His pupils dart around Andrew's face, searching for answers. They get stuck when he sees the firefly. Locked in on it, melting in his arms as his features relax. "'m sorry, I tried…" Jean whispers. "No, you don't do that. You don't get to fucking die," he grits out.

With that he finds more fight within him again. Replenished for one last battle after whatever hell he crawled through since last night. "I'm staying with them. I'll answer your questions but I'm going back to Palmetto after."
