“ my, my ! you have such stunning eyes, darling. ” you smile- a perfectly practiced expression, as you lean to let them catch a whiff of your expensive perfume. “ tell me- a lovely person such as yourself shouldn’t have to travel alone- ” you’re testing them, you just need a little time to see if this is a person worth taking into the shadowed wings of the aviary. “ my troupe is staying in the inn here for the week, you should join us for our performance this evening ! i insist~ ”

“  that sounds nice, actually. ” you pick at your nails. “ y’know- ” you start, brushing off the flakes of black nail polish from your hand. “ i’m . . .  i’m happy wherever you wanna be, decie. except if you take us to live somewhere where the ocean is too far away to drive to in less than a day. i’d get sad if i can’t see the ocean. ”

“ i swing from believing : that maybe my working will all pay off, to considering . . . ”

( hypocrite, the voice of their father hisses at them with pure malice in his voice- you lying hypocrite. ) arms uncross from their chest. “ well ! i can play the piano ! ” you hum with a smile- thoughts disconnected from the world around you. “ big sister camilla is trying to teach me how to be a proper lady- but ! i’m not a very good hostess. yet ! ”

“ eooos ! ~ ” you clasp a hand on your niecephew’s shoulder, a mischievous smile on your lips. “ tell me, where does your mother keep her snacks in her quarters ? it’s completely serious and very important that i know immediately ! ”

“ awwwww ! c’mon little eos ! ” you put your niecephew in a headlock, completely messing up their hair. ( eos can easily escape. you just like teasing them. ) “ won’t you help your favorite uncle prank your mother ? ”

“ g-germie ! ” triumphantly, you hold up a pair of gas station sandwhiches ( strawberries and whipped cream ) - clearly,  ‘ hard earned ’ trophies of the pre school rush. “ look ! they w-were the last ones, and i g-got them ! ”
