As a fan of the original Korean version of Marry My Husband, my expectations were already sky-high for the Japanese adaptation - but, as millions have said before me: HOLY FUCK, THIS IS PERFECT.

All condensed into a mere 10 episodes, and it didn’t lose its soul. %30 of the kudos go to the production team, and the rest? Straight to the STELLAR cast.

Koshiba Fuka is flawless as Kanbe Misa, bringing out both the frailty and the endless strength of her character. Shiraishi Sei is phenomenal as the unhinged, deranged, evil Reina - you’ve got to love to hate her. Yokoyama Yu is the epitome of a sleazy, vile ex that makes you scream, “WHAT in the ever-loving fuck did Misa even see in Tomoya?!”

And then… there is… this guy.

Jesus fucking Christ, what is EVEN happening here?

Takeru Satoh is magnificent. Magnetic. Tantalizing in a way that’s just plain illegal. He demands your attention and oh god, am I happy to give it to him. Gladly. Wholeheartedly.

Just look at that kiss scene. I just- ugh.

The way his head and body move before his eyes.

The way he kisses her like he’s starved, like he’s waited lifetimes.

I’m not breathing. I’m gone. Dead. Totally ready for my own Director to save me, love me, yearn for me. One that looks like Takeru Satoh. Or just… Takeru Satoh.
