She was late, of all nights she had to stay over they couldn’t have picked a worse one. She did her best to hurry, but she couldn’t show up looking anything less than perfect. She texted him, telling him she was still coming and hoping he wouldn’t mind. She never would have been nervous before, but three years--it changes a person. She usually never made quite the effort, but given the event and well, who she’d be meeting there she had to look perfect. But that took time and time was against her, when had it ever been for her?
