As always with Spring, I’m finally getting back into things, even if slowly. Here are the preparations for a ritual from last week, involving a spirit who appeared to me over the winter.

So I'm traveling with my parents today, will be away for a week (expect less posts). Since we had to leave the house at 7 AM (and I'm NOT a morning person), I decided to pull an all-nighter.
I'm currently on the airplane (with the airplane mode on, dw. I'll be off the plane when this is posted) and I slept a bit, which was the plan. However. We often forget to bring something to chew on to fight the atmosphere pressure - it beats me how, we travel often, we should know better by now - and so I'm now massaging my right ear. I want to sleep more but I'm afraid that if I do so, my tympan will fucking explode :D
Woohoo we just landed as I'm finishing writing this, slayyy!
My mom said I'm being dramatic about the ears, that they won't get damaged. Well, ig that's the James and Sirius kinship in me.
Also, I was meaning not to come to this trip because my relationship with her has been atrocious as of lately so if we fight I'll probably make a rant post.
I'll keep you updated, even if you didn't ask for it nor care :)

Hello to all my new followers who’ve joined us in the past couple of weeks! If you don’t know me; I’m Jayde, an almost 30 y/o (don’t even) cat momma who resides in a sleepy English village. I run this lil blog & I had quite the hiatus but now I’m back & enjoying sims more than ever!
I thought it would be fun to get to know each other a little better so pls tell me one thing you’ve done in the sims today (or recently, whichever!) I’ll go first: I watched (and took a video of, lol) Vlad the vampire run around the English countryside during a storm & then get hit by lightning, lmao. It was very entertaining :’)
It’s been a hot minute since I was active at all in the dragon age. Like years really. So I took a peak into the fandom.
I don’t quite get what’s going on but oh boy.
Places set for the spirits during Verdis Day, my celebration of the Spring Equinox.
I intended to convene with certain members of my spirit court through tarot (something I do every solstice/equinox) but realized I only had one of my decks on hand, and it was not the preferred deck for either spirit.
I asked if they’d be fine continuing with that deck, while the altar and offerings were all set. They really went “nah, we’ll wait.”
(I was able to grab the right decks and continue that evening, though without the whole ritual song and dance. Seemed the method of communication mattered much more to them than the manner of approach in this case)

Thanks so much for the tag @banjeekuntd!! Sorry it took so long to get to 😅
Last Song Listened Too
Nobody - The Crane Wives
Favorite Colors
Plum purples and deep violets, Pthalo and forest greens.
Currently Watching
Sort of between shows at the moment, but my partner did just finish showing me My Hero Academia!
Currently Reading
Oh god, so many things. Bigger by Ren Cedar Fuller; The Comfort of Crows by Margaret Renkl; Bluets by Maggie Nelson and World of Wonders by Aimee Nezhukumatathil. As soon as I finish up this semester I’ll be jumping back into Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
Current Obsession
After making my partner watch all the tinkerbell movies with me while high, I’ve been obsessed with planning a D&D campaign that takes the world idea of pixie hollow/neverland and combines it with more traditional fae lore and my own narrative bullshit. Our whole group is really hyped for it and I plan to start running it in May :)
Currently Working On
Finding an apartment, several creative nonfiction pieces, and the aforementioned campaign.

I’m very late to this trend so, sorry if I tag you and you’ve already done this!
@musings-on-wisteria, @ladyiristheenchantress , @bytheforgeflame, @librarydruid, @anotherdeathwitch, @sagittariuswitchery, @awitchnamedjuniper, and anyone else who would like to participate!
Been in a bit of an abysmal state as of late for literally no reason (life has been good, just a flare up of various mental illnesses), but thankfully I was able to return to some sort of spiritual rhythm just before the big Jupiter Cazimi event.
Lots of little things aligned just right for me to be able to do a pretty spontaneous working for it this morning, and it’s been nice getting back into my usual habits the last few days: casual cartomancy, frequent offerings, etc.
Most of my energy has had to go towards writing, which has been pretty forced. Both creatively and spiritually I’ve really been feeling the need to lie fallow for a little bit, to absorb more than I produce, but creatively that’s kind of impossible since the MFA term began early July.
Thankfully, I’ve long passed the point where I put pressure on myself to be doing magical shit all the time, so my craft was able to take a back seat for a month or so. I feel very refreshed coming back to it now.
I’ve always been a bit too scared to really engage with communities here in the past, but I’m in love with @slewfootwitch’s vision for their #pathandpractice tag, and my courage has grown a lot as of late.
As such, I would love to try and be an active part of this space, and figured I’d follow others’ examples and introduce myself!
I go by Jayde or Jay and I’m a queer Appalachian witch in my early 20s. I started dabbling in early highschool, but approximately 3 years in it turned from an eccentric hobby to one of the most important pieces of my life.
My path draws from several places—namely traditional, sabbatic, and chaos magic paradigms. Its roots lie in animism, interbeing, and the study of existence, while its heart lies in connection.
At the current moment, I mostly do a lot of divination, trance work, aspecting, spirit work/veneration, and some astrology stuff.
I’m super excited to see all the cool things people share here, and to hopefully share some stuff of my own!
