Underrated Bands: Tigertailz 🐯

Tigertailz, die Glam Rock Band aus Wales, hat mit Pipped It Popped It einen Song veröffentlicht, der eigentlich für den Eurovision Song Contest geplant war. Der Song wird auf dem nächsten Album Blast, welches für April geplant ist erscheinen. Tigertailz haben den Song auch an die Jury in England eingereicht. Dort wählt die Jury dann eine Reihe von Songs, welche dann dem englischen Publikum zur Wahl vorgestellt werden. Leider kam der Song aber nicht in die Auswahl und wurde umgehend wieder zurückgewiesen. Für mich eigentlich nicht ganz verständlich. Rückblickend auf die letzten Jahre, hat England ja überhaupt nichts anständiges mehr hingekriegt, von Andrew Weber Lloyd mal abgesehen. Gitarrist Jay Pepper meint den auch:

Was our song even listened to? Who knows, but clearly the BBC and UK Eurovision Fan Club didn’t think a song and image that celebrated David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust, Mott The Hoople, The Sweet and T Rex was worthy of showing the British public and letting them decide. And this is in a month when British glam rock legends like David Bowie and Mott The Hoople’s Dale ‚Buffin‘ Griffin died. A perfect chance to celebrate that great British era of music with a UK glam rock entry at Eurovision. They obviously know better. Well, their track record over the last five years proves this, doesn’t it?“
