pink: what are your opinions on valentine’s day?

Valentine’s day is a capitalist creation designed by people to put a price tag on affection and love, which is entirely blown out of proportion by the idea that if you don’t buy your loved one(s) the most expensive things, you don’t actually love them, and everyone should get the same easily marketable objects of love instead of things that may not be considered romantic but bring absolute joy to the recipient and prove that you do care for them and wanted to get them something they’ll like. The idea of a day of consumption rather than an open festival of love and loving each other is disgusting and I hate the very idea behind it. At the same time, love is the driving force of the universe, and love is the most good thing in this world, and we should absolutely have holidays devoted to the idea of extra love to those around us, those we love and care for, without the aspects of money involved. If you want to buy the one you love something, do it, but it should not be a required aspect of a fake holiday. Love is the most important thing, it matters so much, capitalism is evil, wake up america.
