I went to my first Goblin Masquerade Ball this weekend!!! Thank you so much @anarchygirlscosplay for putting on this phenomenal event. This nerd’s dreams came true! I took my partner Jacky and my best friend Salem and we found two new friends in Bee (dressed as the worm!) and Talon. I also ran into my drag dad Madazon and my drag sibling Fae! I met Falln who I’ve admired their work for years, they are a fantastic Jareth! I made friends with the darling Fern @lynnaenelson1 and finally met in person @the_marvelous_zoetrope and she was an absolutely stunning Sarah! We had so much fun dancing the night away, and are in talks of further collaboration! 😉 Oh also I did start off the night with a mask on. I decided to pull a Jareth and enter the ball in disguise. I was in a black cloak and gold bird mask and when I went to present my tribute to the Unseelie Queen that’s when my cohorts (a tad haphazardly since we didn’t practice enough) ripped off my cloak and I unmasked myself. Making a callback to his disguise in the tunnels (and his possible other disguise in the ballroom scene as well, if you know, you know 🤫😜). It was really fun sneaking around for the first bit like the silly lil gremlin man I am. Too bad I didn’t get any pics of that bit. 😩 I remember finding out that people put on these balls based on the Labyrinth Masquerade scene but I didn’t know it would be something I’d get to experience at this point in my life. It was all I’d ever dreamed of and more. ✨🥰✨ I’m so grateful for the vibrantly artistic and, let’s be honest, pretty nerdy culture we have here in Utah. It was honestly so cool to go to a party where I know the majority of people around me have seen Labyrinth and love it! This night will go down as one of my all time favorites….. 🔮⚰️A blessed Samhain from your vampiric Goblin King⚰️🔮 As most of you know this October has been rough but I decided to put my big boy tights on and return to a character that is very important to me but with a twist. I’m obsessed with vampires and if I’d had the money and mental capacity to do a Graf Von Krolock costume from Tanz Der Vampire, a German musical I’ve adored for years, I would have. But Jareth and Krolock have a lot in common. They are dramatic, musical, nobility that enjoy haunting a brunette Sarah. So I decided to combine the two but it reads more as a vampire Jareth costume which I’m also okay with. June 27th was my 30th Birthday 🎉🎂🎈🎉 Labyrinth came out June 27th in 1986. I think it's pretty cool that I share a birthday with on of my favorite movies! 💖 I had been hoping to do a really big celebration for it, but then the pandemic hit...I wasn't going to put the people I care about in danger so I could have party.
