Indian Railways Launches Japanese-Style Pod Hotel With WiFi, AC At Mumbai Station. An IRCTC official stated to a reputed news agency that the pod hotel will be cheaper than the currently available retiring rooms. The pods will have Wi-Fi, AC, key card access, CCTV surveillance and washrooms. According to a News18 report, Mumbai Central will house 48 pods including 30 classic ones, 7 ladies only, 10 private pods and one disabled-friendly pod. Apart from these facilities, the IRCTC pod hotel will also impress passengers with its changing areas, washrooms, lounge area and even a cafeteria. The cheapest pod may cost ₹999 for 12 hours. The construction of the first pod hotel at Mumbai Central Railway Station was planned by IRCTC from the year 2018. Well, we are glad that this plan is finally got into action. . . . .
