This is a slightly modified vintage Japanese kimono jacket designed to offer a roomier fit. The fabric features gorgeous dye work in shades of dark and light purple on top of a woven diamond grid. A lovely sheen to the fabric, and don't miss the hidden pocket! Each Japanique Jacket starts out as a vintage michiyuki, which is a narrow jacket with snap closures meant to be worn on top of a kimono. Most vintage michiyuki won't fit larger frames, so we modified the traditional garment slightly (removed the snaps and tacked the panels back to create lapels) to make a roomier, open, flowing jacket that can fit sizes 12-18. Our Japanique Jackets can also be crossed over and belted on a smaller sized person.
