Have you ever wondered how many people on tour have the same first names? Of course not, it doesn't matter. I'll show it to you anyway using data scraped from the ATP/WTA Official Rankings (Top 1000).

Interestingly, circling back to the reason we're in this mess (all the Rafas and Carloses in Spain), there are only two active players named Rafael and five named Carlos.

There are 509 first names that only belong to one person each, whereas there are 663 unique first names in total.

(ciao... don't see myself 😆 is nice, no?) (yes because the other two are yannick and yannik. simply saved by a technicality)

Again, 553 first names that only belong to one person each out of 694 total unique first names. The ratio (79.68%) isn't that different to the ATP's (76.77%).

With all the names ending in -ia (Maria, Victoria, etc.) it got me Thinking 🤔 how many Are They? Well, there are 129 people, and 52 distinct names.

This shows the top five if you add up the ranking points of all the people who have the same first name.

The most interesting fact is that even if you combine all the Alexanders into a Frankensascha, they STILL wouldn't come close to either sin- or -caraz. Gap where? Mind you this includes Bublik, who, to our dismay, is top 11.

I would put my money on the Arthurs for the hypothetical name slam, provided that the only ones who can enter are the names belonging to more than five people—Fils, Rinderknech, Cazaux, and Géa are very strong contenders. Then again, there is Alex de Minaur and Alex Michelsen repping the non-Alexander Alexes. (but look, every opponent is tough, no? so you cannot tell for sure)

...so this is just the current WTA top 5 (with some points added to Lena and Jess as there are 7 Elenas and 5 Jessicas). #WTAgoatedASFUCKKKK
