Am I the only person in "the pitt" fandom who went into the show thinking it was about Robbie and his mentorship to Whittaker. where Robbie is hard on Whittaker but just because he wants him to succeed as a doctor once he gets out of med school, bantering, and giving support when he needs it. Like a father-son relationship, becoming the mentor Whittaker needed. Like I just saw one platonic fanart and part of an edit and finished it in like 4 days excited to check out the fandom only to look on Tumblr and see people shipping them together. Which is fine, people can do whatever they want but still goddamn.
I love Mr robot but it has a lot of issues. for all the things I praise about it, it has all the political depth a 2015 show can have, mocking Starbucks drinking Instagram users and "vinestars." A considerable amount of its commentary on capitalism and on society places it on the consumer. "No Elliot, we did not vote for this with our wallets it's kind of hard to avoid buying from horrible companies considering the entire system of capitalism fosters insatiable unsympathetic greed." It's like Elliot forgets that most people are buying from corrupt companies not because they don't care but because their financial situation have left them no choice. God the opening monologue from Elliot with Krista in therapy makes me cringe no matter how many times I rewatch it. As much as Mr robot has great nuanced political commentary as the show goes on, it has just as much underdeveloped commentary that has aged like milk.
That being said, will I be rewatching this show for the 3rd time and also making edits, yes, yes I will.
