it was a sunday morning and noelle had to do something for work, so wes asked if janie would be interested on going on an early morning hike with him. claiming she wanted out of the house she couldn’t help but in the sake of honesty she never really passed up a chance to hangout with wes. the two of them hiked for a couple hours, which felt like ten minutes before the ended up in front of a beautiful waterfall. janie insisted on getting a photo because of the pure joy on wes’s face. to this day, it’s one of her favorite pictures of wes and reminds her of a near perfect day. 

( hehe pretend that’s noelle ) janie had been snapping photos of the newly engaged couple noelle & wes when she came across this photo. she claimed it was an accidentally crop out of noelle, that she didn’t mean to crop her out but somehow she never got around to deleting it. if you search the deepest corners of her heart it’s probably because of how his jawline looks, the jawline she could feel to this day her finger tips draping over and for a moment she gets lost thinking about what if that was her hand in the photo instead of her very best friend’s. 

this was taken one morning after wes and janie had spent all night talking. they had fallen asleep on the couch, nestled into each other’s arms. she had tried to sneak a picture of him but he had woken up before she could. what had resulted was a picture of him making this expression, he looked conflicted, confused, and she never had the courage to ask what he was thinking. she can still smell the cologne on his shirt from that night, she can still remember the feel of his arms around her. maybe that’s why she never got around to deleting the photo.
