WHY would this show gaslight me into thinking Sarah Lund and Jan Meyer’s relationship is no big deal!? Søren Malling even said in an interview that he didn’t want to be killed off because he and Sofie Gråbøl had such good chemistry, the writers had to admit he had a point and delayed his death so his character could have more time with Lund. When I finished season one and logged on to tumblr dot com I couldn’t BELIEVE there weren’t hundreds of you shipping these two! Don’t get me wrong I think the acting and writing of their dynamic up to Meyer’s death is absolutely perfect but then after he dies it’s just soooo painful that things almost continue as if nothing happened. Which maybe was the point for the Lund character but still, it felt so pointlessly bleak and heartless not to see her break up a little more over the whole thing!?! At first I thought they had the David Tennant/Olivia Coleman thing going on as seen in Broadchurch, you know, the friendship chemistry that is borderline romantic but is never cheapened into some predictable sexy storyline even though there’s CRAZY intimacy. And then I kept watching and I was like...you know everyone goes on and on about how the English became obsessed with Nordic noir because of this show and the craze for Danish television swept through the UK etc., what if Mofftiss literally watched this show as they were writing the first season of Sherlock and got Johnlock ideas from it (maybe even unconsciously). I’m literally not kidding. Like I am saying with my full chest Lund and Meyer are dead ringers for Sherlock and John parallels. I know love when I see it! When Meyer gives that little sigh and then a second later follows Lund to accompany her on one of her unsanctioned little benders...when he literally chooses to believe, trust, and help her every time, even at the expense of having a “normal” life and being with his own family...when he KILLS FOR HER and saves her life??? Tell me that whole scene isn’t almost exactly the same, shot for shot, as the ending of A Study in Pink. I cannot be the only person who ships this, even as a “friendship”!!!
